Zeeman reaches nine stores in Madrid with an opening in Alcalá de Henares

The Dutch chain Zeeman, which focuses on low-cost textiles and accessories, continues its expansion strategy in Spain with the opening of its ninth store in the Community of Madrid, located in the city of Alcalá de Henares.

In the Madrid locality, Zeeman has installed in number 9 of Torrelaguna street, premises in which it distributes the categories of children’s and baby clothing, intimate fashion and home textile articles. After the inauguration of this establishment, the company has a staff of 45 workers in the community of Madrid.

With the objective of reaching 250 stores in the medium term, Zeeman is already halfway to its goal, as it currently has 118 stores in the Spanish market and almost 600 employees.

The chain was founded in 1967 in the Netherlands and maintains its family spirit. Its commercial proposal is based on the «neighborhood store» concept, which is why it frequently sets up in medium-sized towns and outlying areas of large cities.

With a price positioning and product offering in line with other chains such as Primark, the company recorded sales of 745 million euros in the last fiscal year throughout Europe. Each year it receives some 70 million customers and its commercial network comprises some 1,300 stores in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Austria and Luxembourg.
