Under Armour has named John Varvatos as its new Chief Design Officer, effective September 11. Varvatos, a fashion industry veteran with extensive experience at brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Converse, and his eponymous label, will lead the creative design direction at Under Armour. He will oversee design studios in New York, Baltimore, and Portland, Oregon. Varvatos’ appointment comes as Under Armour seeks to rejuvenate its business, which has seen declining sales in recent quarters, especially in North America. The sportswear company aims to infuse style and performance into its products, catering to the growing demand for versatile apparel suitable for both sports and everyday wear.
