Topman Collaborates with Ashmolean Museum for Art-Inspired Capsule Collection

Topman, an ASOS-owned brand, has unveiled an exciting partnership that bridges the worlds of art and fashion, demonstrating that artistic influences are not confined to the high-end market. The brand has joined forces with the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology in Oxford, England, to create a collaborative collection inspired by the museum’s extensive art holdings.

The Ashmolean Museum, renowned for its prominence and historical significance, is a popular tourist destination. Established between 1678 and 1683, it stands as the UK’s first public museum, purpose-built to house the cabinet of curiosities gifted to the University of Oxford by Elias Ashmole in 1677.

The AW23 capsule collection pays homage to the museum’s rich heritage and art collection through a bespoke range of clothing. The collection primarily features T-shirts and other topwear adorned with monochrome or colorful allover and placement prints inspired by various artworks, ranging from historic sculptures to paintings.

To underscore this artistic connection, the e-tailer has conducted a photoshoot for a supporting campaign inside the museum itself, positioning the model amidst the historic art pieces. The collection offers a range of price points, starting at £30 for oversized-fit T-shirts, going up to £50 for sweatshirts, and reaching £70 for a hoodie.
