Timberland’s Innovative Concept Store in Tokyo: Timberland Boutique Tokyo

Timberland, the renowned footwear brand under VF Corp.’s ownership, has chosen the vibrant Japanese market as the location for its inaugural concept store, «Timberland Boutique Tokyo.»

Situated in Tokyo’s Daikanyama district, this groundbreaking concept store is the result of a collaboration with the acclaimed fashion director and stylist, Akio Hasegawa, in conjunction with the design office, Daikei Mills, hosted by Keisuke Nakamura. It seamlessly blends elements of American and Tokyo culture to create a distinctive space that draws inspiration from construction sites and mountain huts. Inside, the store boasts an industrial aesthetic with exposed reinforcement materials such as plywood and construction elements, paying homage to Timberland’s rich heritage in workwear and outdoor gear.

Timberland Boutique Tokyo offers a curated selection of exclusive limited-edition products, the brand’s iconic footwear, and exciting collaborative items with both domestic and international brands and artists. It kicks off its offerings with the much-anticipated Japan-limited premium collection, «Timberland +81 3.»

Beyond its product range, the concept store houses the ‘Archive Wall,’ an art gallery showcasing works that capture the brand’s rich heritage from the perspective of Tokyo-based artists. On the second floor, customers have the opportunity to personalize their Timberland footwear and apparel, along with the convenience of a free cleaning service for their pre-loved boots.

Susie Rubin Mulder, the Global President of Timberland, remarked, «With the launch of the Timberland + 81 3 collection and boutique opening, we will continue to honor Timberland’s legacy while infusing new vitality into the brand.»

This concept store launch follows Timberland’s announcement of a 6 percent decline in first-quarter revenues, as reported during VF Corp.’s recent trading update on August 1.
