Sainsbury’s Tu Clothing, known for its fashion-forward approach, is boldly stepping into the bridal industry with the introduction of an accessible bridal collection—a pioneering move that makes it the first UK supermarket to venture into this specialized sector.
The debut collection features two striking options: an elegant sleeveless, pleated wedding dress priced incredibly at just £22 and a sophisticated white bias-cut gown, a steal at £50. Promising to expand further, the collection will soon include «limited edition styles,» such as a contemporary double-breasted jacket paired with wide-legged trousers, all for a remarkable £68. Ensuring inclusivity, these styles are available in a size range spanning from UK 8 to 24.
But Tu Clothing doesn’t stop at the bride. The collection extends its offerings to grooms with a well-rounded selection that encompasses a suit jacket, waistcoat, and trousers, available in three versatile colors, all affordably priced between £26 and £60.
This exciting launch coincides with Tu Clothing’s role as the official sponsor of the popular TV series «Married At First Sight UK.»
As the cost of living remains a concern, engaged couples are increasingly seeking budget-friendly wedding options, making Tu Clothing’s foray into the bridal domain a savvy choice.
Emma Benjafield, Director of Product at Tu, commented, «Our unwavering focus is on meeting the evolving needs of our customers, and we recognize that many are seeking affordable, timeless styles for wedding occasions. We understand that, especially in these times, budget considerations are paramount for our customers.»
In addition to this exciting bridal expansion, Sainsbury’s is unveiling fashion destination hubs in select 50 stores, introducing a diverse array of third-party brands. In an initial phase, nine stores have already embraced a women’s edit, featuring renowned brands like Sosandar and Simply Be, alongside collections from Finery and Little Mistress by Vogue Williams, among other exciting additions.
