ReSee, the Premier Luxury Vintage E-tailer, Appoints Sébastien Fabre, Vestiaire Collective Co-founder, as CEO

ReSee, a distinguished French luxury vintage e-tailer, marks a strategic move with the appointment of Sébastien Fabre as its new CEO. Renowned as the co-founder of Vestiaire Collective, Fabre brings a wealth of experience in the second-hand fashion and luxury sector to drive ReSee’s global expansion and growth initiatives. Serving on ReSee’s board of directors for several months, Fabre, alongside co-founder Sofia Bernardin, aims to propel the company to new heights, reinforcing its technological capabilities.

In his role, Fabre will steer ReSee’s international expansion, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. This announcement coincides with ReSee’s 10th-anniversary celebration, setting the stage for a decade of accelerated growth under Fabre’s seasoned leadership.

Sébastien Fabre’s illustrious career began in finance in Washington DC, followed by impactful roles at Vivendi and Microsoft. His entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding Vestiaire Collective in 2009, a pioneering resale platform that achieved remarkable success. In 2021, Fabre embarked on a new venture, co-founding Agua Blanca, an e-tailer specializing in personal care and household products.

While specific revenue figures were not disclosed, ReSee has consistently maintained profitability since its inception, boasting a remarkable year-on-year revenue growth of 120%. The e-tailer secured €3 million in funding last year and formed a strategic partnership with Alaïa, a renowned couture label, to curate and sell its archives. As part of its expansion strategy, ReSee plans to establish a New York subsidiary in 2024, driven by the significant market share it enjoys in the U.S., where 70% of its total sales originate.

Specializing in the resale of luxury items, particularly those featured on prestigious fashion runways, ReSee focuses on high-end handbags from leading labels such as Hermès, Chanel, Céline, and Saint Laurent. These luxury items contribute significantly to ReSee’s revenue, with an average purchase basket of €3,000. As ReSee continues its upward trajectory, Sébastien Fabre’s leadership heralds a new era of growth, innovation, and success for the esteemed luxury vintage e-tailer.
