Next CFO Transition: Amanda James to Retire, Jonathan Blanchard Appointed as Successor

Next announces the retirement of Amanda James, its esteemed Chief Financial Officer, and introduces Jonathan Blanchard from Reiss as her successor. Explore Amanda’s remarkable legacy and Jonathan’s role in shaping Next’s financial future.

In a significant transition, Next’s Chief Financial Officer, Amanda James, is preparing to retire after an illustrious twenty-eight-year journey with the company. Her invaluable service will be remembered as she steps down from the board on July 26, 2024, coinciding with the release of Next’s interim results. On September 26 of the same year, Amanda will bid farewell to the company.

Anticipating Amanda’s departure, Next has proactively selected her successor. Jonathan Blanchard, the current CFO at Reiss (a majority-owned subsidiary of Next), will officially join Next in February of the following year. In July, he will assume the role of CFO while taking his seat on the board.

Jonathan Blanchard’s journey with Reiss began in 2017 when he joined as a director. His instrumental role in negotiating and implementing the transition to the Next Total Platform has positioned him as the ideal candidate for this pivotal role. Next expresses full confidence in Jonathan’s capabilities, stating, «We have enjoyed a close collaboration with Jonathan for over three years and firmly believe that his skills perfectly align with Next’s financial strategies and corporate ethos.»

While Amanda James’ retirement marks the end of an era, Next acknowledges her monumental contributions to the group. As an exceptional guardian of the company’s finances, Amanda’s diligence and hard work have left an indelible mark on Next’s financial stability. The board extends its profound appreciation to Amanda for her outstanding service to the group, and her legacy is certain to endure.
