He has shared before-and-after photos, captured by a friend, which highlight small tears in the fabric and missing crystals, among other issues with the gown.
This dress had been acquired by the curiosity museum Ripley’s Believe It or Not! at a record-breaking auction price of $4.8 million. Fortner’s allegations of damage have garnered significant attention and discussion on various social media platforms.
In an Instagram update, Fortner explicitly holds Ripley’s responsible for permitting the dress to be worn, suggesting that any celebrity offered this unique opportunity might have accepted. He posits that the gown would likely have incurred damage irrespective of the wearer.
Ripley’s, when questioned about the allegations, had not provided any response as of Wednesday afternoon. However, the company had previously emphasized the meticulous care taken to preserve the dress and prioritize its condition when Kardashian adorned it.
