Fleur du Mal’s Exclusive Collaboration with Ballet Star Isabella Boylston: A Fusion of Elegance and Movement

Explore the seamless integration of sophistication and grace as Fleur du Mal, the distinguished lingerie label led by CEO Jennifer Zuccarini, collaborates with American Ballet Theater principal dancer Isabella Boylston. Unveiled on November 29, this collection harmoniously blends intimate apparel with the artistry of ballet, embodying seduction and movement.

The launch event, graced by press, influencers, and luminaries from ABT and NYCB, unfolded at the beautifully reimagined The Golden Swan.

In an exclusive interview with FashionNetwork.com, Zuccarini shared the organic genesis of the collaboration, tracing back seven years when Isabella adorned one of Fleur du Mal’s lace bodysuits. Zuccarini noted, «For this collaboration, she approached us about the idea,» emphasizing the synergy between lingerie and ballet.

While Fleur du Mal has long offered ready-to-wear pieces, Zuccarini acknowledged that the extensive range may surprise many. «It’s lingerie-inspired, a niche that resonates well for us,» she added, hinting at the brand’s undiscovered facets.

Looking ahead, Fleur du Mal contemplates ventures into beauty, including proprietary pleasure devices and a fragrance conceived during the pandemic. Zuccarini expressed enthusiasm for expanding into beauty products such as lipstick, body lotions, and oils.

Ambitious retail plans are also on the horizon, with the brand eyeing the opening of seven or eight stores in 2024 and beyond. Despite having prominent wholesale accounts, Zuccarini emphasized that the brand remains Direct-to-Consumer (DTC)-centric.

The celebration, attended by luminaries from the ballet world, featured Isabella Boylston donning a black bodysuit and flowing wrap skirt, seamlessly blending ballet chic with disco-era vibes.

The Fleur du Mal x Isabella Boylston collection, described as a fusion of «grace and glamour,» encompasses size-inclusive bodysuits, ballet wrap skirts, silk angel sleeve robes, and handkerchief skirts. Priced between $295 and $495, the collection is available online, at Fleur du Mal boutiques in New York and West Hollywood, and select retailers.

Boylston, expressing her delight, acknowledged the perfect timing of the collaboration amid the ballet core’s current moment. The collection captures the essence of Isabella’s artistry on stage, combined with Fleur du Mal’s timeless elegance.

The soirée, filled with laughter and gratitude, underscored the symbiotic relationship between intimate apparel and ballet. As attendees bid their farewells, ballerinas, clad in Converse hi-tops, transitioned from elegant heights to the comfort of dancer’s essentials, marking the end of a night where sophistication and movement converged in perfect harmony.
