Wes Gordon, the creative force behind Carolina Herrera, is set to receive the prestigious 2021 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion from The Museum at FIT.

This esteemed honor will be presented during the annual New York City luncheon, taking place on September 22nd at Cipriani South Street. The event is co-chaired by Jeffrey Fowler, Émilie Rubinfeld, and Nordstrom.

This award coincides with Carolina Herrera’s 40th-anniversary celebration and the eagerly awaited return of New York Fashion Week in September. Wes Gordon, who initially joined Carolina Herrera in 2017 as a consultant before being handpicked by the legendary designer herself to assume the role of creative director a year later, is widely acclaimed for breathing new life into the iconic brand. His designs are characterized by their vibrant colors, playful sensibilities, and youthful flair, reinvigorating the brand’s timeless appeal.

In response to receiving the Couture Council Award, Wes Gordon expressed his deep appreciation, highlighting the significance of this recognition within the context of Carolina Herrera’s 40th-anniversary festivities and the resurgence of New York Fashion Week.

The Museum at FIT is gearing up for a grand reopening on August 6th, featuring a major exhibition titled ‘Ravishing: The Rose in Fashion.’

This award acknowledges Wes Gordon’s outstanding contributions to the fashion industry and positions him as an inspiring role model for emerging designers, including fashion students.
