Valentino Garavani, the visionary behind the iconic Valentino fashion empire, is set to be honored with the prestigious ‘Legacy Award’ at the 2019 Green Carpet Fashion Awards. This annual event, in collaboration with the Camera della Moda and Eco-Age, recognizes fashion brands that are dedicated to advancing sustainability.
The ceremony, scheduled for September 22 at Milan’s renowned Teatro alla Scala, is a highlight of the fashion calendar, attracting luminaries from Hollywood and the fashion industry. Previous attendees have included Cate Blanchett, Elle Macpherson, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Carlo Capasa, Chairman of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, and Livia Firth, Creative Director and Co-founder of Eco-Age, both praised Valentino’s influential career, spanning over five decades, championing Italian talent, design, and fashion. They believe he is truly deserving of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards’ Legacy Award.
Notably, this accolade follows in the footsteps of Vogue International Editor Suzy Menkes, who received the Legacy Award in the 2018 edition of the event.
