Uniqlo, the global retail powerhouse, is gearing up for an ambitious expansion in North America in 2024, aiming to double its store openings with the introduction of over 20 new locations across the United States and Canada.
The carefully curated expansion strategy includes key locations scheduled to launch in spring 2024. In the United States, Uniqlo is set to make its mark at Tacoma Mall (Tacoma, Washington), Alderwood Mall (Lynnwood, Washington), South Shore Plaza (Braintree, Massachusetts), Providence Place (Providence, Rhode Island – marking an entry into a new market), and Staten Island Mall (Staten Island, New York). North of the border in Canada, Uniqlo enthusiasts can anticipate new stores at CF Fairview Mall (Toronto), CF Market Mall (Calgary), Scarborough Town Centre (Toronto), and Bayshore Shopping Centre (Ottawa).
Daisuke Tsukagoshi, CEO of Uniqlo North America, expressed enthusiasm about embarking on the next phase of their North American expansion plan. «Stores are the heartbeat of our business, where we can engage with our local communities, hear directly from our customers, and best understand their needs to continue to improve and perfect our products. We’re looking forward to a big year ahead.”
Uniqlo, known for its debut in the U.S. in 2005 and its iconic LifeWear offerings for men, women, and kids, is intensifying its growth trajectory in 2024. The ambitious expansion follows the momentum generated in 2022, as Uniqlo strives to achieve 200 stores in North America by 2027. Currently, the brand operates 53 stores in the U.S., 19 in Canada, and maintains a robust online presence at uniqlo.com.
With a fiscal year ending on August 31, 2023, that showcased significant growth in North America, Uniqlo anticipates sustained success in 2024. The brand is not only focused on accelerating new store openings but also aims for double-digit sales growth in its existing locations, reaffirming its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.
