Sephora Appoints Deborah Yeh as Global Chief Marketing Officer

Sephora, the renowned French cosmetics retailer, has named Deborah Yeh as its new Global Chief Marketing Officer, with her tenure commencing on November 3.

With a rich background in marketing, Yeh has been a vital part of the Sephora team for over a decade. She began her journey at the company 11 years ago and has held various pivotal roles. Yeh started as the Vice President of Marketing, North America, in 2012, and her career path led to her appointment as Chief Marketing Officer for the Americas region in 2015. In 2021, she took on the role of Global Chief Purpose Officer for the LVMH-owned retailer, a position she held for two years.

Before her association with Sephora, Yeh served as the Vice President of Marketing at Gap Inc. and held managerial roles at Target Corp. and Vividence Corporation.

In her new capacity, Yeh will continue to report to Guillaume Motte, Sephora’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and will remain a key member of Sephora’s global leadership team. Her appointment follows the departure of Steve Lesnard, who is embarking on new opportunities beginning November 2.

As per an internal memo from parent company LVMH, Yeh’s primary focus in her new role will be on enhancing Sephora’s brand desirability and expanding its global community of loyal members. She will also foster cross-regional collaboration and encourage the sharing of best practices. Additionally, Yeh will continue to drive Sephora’s purpose and sustainability strategy.

This announcement coincides with the grand reopening of Sephora’s flagship store on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, following extensive renovation work. During the reopening celebration, Guillaume Motte expressed Sephora’s aspiration to exceed the €20 billion revenue milestone, although no specific timeframe was provided.
