Selfridges Unwraps Festive Extravaganza Windows as Arket Debuts Concession

Selfridges steals the spotlight on Oxford Street with the unveiling of its Christmas extravaganza windows, a theatrical spectacle named «Showtime!». Crafted in collaboration with notable creatives like costume designer Max Allen and hairstylist Sam McKnight, the windows showcase a cast of Christmas characters, taking over 100 hours to install using 500 meters of fabric, 2,000 baubles, and 150 fabric bows.

Simultaneously, Arket, known for its minimalist Scandinavian style, makes a significant move by launching its first-ever concession within Selfridges’ Oxford Street branch on November 24. Departing from its standalone and online presence, the 893 sq ft concession on the third floor will spotlight a curated selection of Arket’s womenswear collection.

The design ethos aligns with Arket’s understated aesthetic, featuring soft greys, custom-made tables, and signature terrazzo stone. Collaborating with Artek 2nd Cycle, the lounge area incorporates restored pieces, presenting pre-loved Artek lighting and furniture from the Finnish heritage brand.

Pernilla Wohlfahrt, Brand MD, expresses Arket’s connection with London, stating, «Since the launch of Arket in London in 2017, with our first stores on Regent Street and in Covent Garden, the city holds a very special place in our hearts.»

As Selfridges transforms into a festive spectacle and Arket finds a new home within its iconic space, the duo merges maximalist holiday cheer with minimalist Scandinavian elegance, creating a captivating retail experience in the heart of London. Explore the magic of Selfridges’ festive showcase and Arket’s debut concession, where holiday enchantment meets Nordic sophistication.
