Originally scheduled for December 29, 2021, to mark the one-year anniversary of Pierre Cardin’s passing, the event has been postponed to January 28, 2022, following Paris Haute Couture Week.
This extraordinary runway show will take place at the Le Bourget Air and Space Museum, just outside Paris, on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 7 pm CET. Pierre Cardin chose this unique venue as a homage to the spectacular shows the renowned couturier was known for. The event is a creation of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, Pierre Cardin’s nephew, who now heads the group.
The show will feature Pierre Cardin’s last creations, as well as the new collection from the Pierre Cardin design studio. It will showcase the designer’s iconic style and codes that contributed to the label’s success.
Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, often regarded as Pierre Cardin’s spiritual heir, emphasized the importance of respecting the brand’s heritage while keeping it relevant for the modern audience. He shared how Pierre Cardin provided him with numerous ideas and left behind sketches for new models during the pandemic, all of which will be part of this grand tribute show.
The event will unveil previously unseen Pierre Cardin creations and new designs inspired by the extensive Pierre Cardin archives, which contain nearly 30,000 items. It’s noteworthy that this show will feature designs created after Pierre Cardin’s passing, marking a significant step in preserving and continuing the legacy of the brand.
