The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has unveiled an eclectic mix of presentations, including physical runway shows, digital displays, and exclusive by-appointment showcases.
The fashion extravaganza kicks off with Peter Do’s highly anticipated second collection for Helmut Lang on February 9, setting the stage for a week of sartorial excellence. CFDA chairman Thom Browne will bring the festivities to a grand close on February 14.
A stellar cast of returning designers includes fashion luminaries such as Carolina Herrera, Coach, Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Khaite, LaQuan Smith, Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Jonathan Cohen, and Proenza Schouler. Adding to the excitement, Gabriela Hearst makes a noteworthy return, presenting her first collection since parting ways with Chloé in September 2023. The schedule also welcomes back Monse, Lafayette 148, Delpozo, and Libertine.
The event showcases emerging talents, with Bishme Cromartie, Callas, Colleen Allen, Jane Wade, and Meruert Tolegen making their debut appearances. Notable participants from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund include Diotima and Zankov, along with finalists Kim Shui and Tanner Fletcher, showcasing their latest collections. The winner, Melitta Baumeister, will debut digitally, adding a digital dimension to the fashion spectacle.
In a momentous international debut, Ludovic de Saint Sernin will present his eponymous brand in New York on February 11, marking his first-ever runway show outside of Paris.
Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, expressed enthusiasm for NYFW’s unique strengths, featuring a diverse mix of new and emerging designers alongside established and international brands. The showcase aims to highlight the voices defining global fashion creativity. Additionally, the CFDA continues to expand the NYFW Travel Fund, fostering collaboration with esteemed international voices and extending the influence of American designers to a global audience.
