Moncler Group continues its sustainability excellence, topping the ‘Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods’ sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World and Europe for the fifth consecutive year. Scoring an impressive 89 out of 100 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment as of December 8, 2023, Moncler Group maintains its leadership position.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index recognizes companies excelling in sustainability, evaluating them on economic, environmental, and social responsibility criteria. Remo Ruffini, Chairman and CEO of Moncler S.p.A., emphasizes the ongoing commitment to integrate sustainability into the business model. Ruffini states, «This commitment has led us to be part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the fifth consecutive year with the highest score in the ‘Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods’ sector. While proud of this achievement, we are aware much remains to be done.»
Moncler Group’s Strategic Sustainability Plan 2020-2025 focuses on climate action, circular economy practices, fair sourcing, diversity enhancement, and community contributions. Key achievements include reaching 90% renewable electricity usage at corporate sites in 2022, maintaining carbon neutrality since 2021, and recycling 100% of nylon scraps. The group aims to integrate lower-impact materials into collections, targeting 50% by 2025.
Noteworthy strides include the elimination of single-use virgin plastic, enhanced traceability for key raw materials, and an ongoing energy assessment program for suppliers to reduce CO2 emissions. In terms of diversity, women constitute 69% of the total workforce and 51% in management roles as of 2022. Moncler Group’s social impact extends to protecting over 108,000 people from the cold over six years, with an estimated total of around 140,000 by the end of 2023.
