In a landmark study conducted with The European House – Ambrosetti, Kering reveals its exceptional growth in Italy, emerging as a powerhouse in the luxury sector. Operating strategically in Italy for 25 years, Kering’s headquarters, production sites, and innovation hubs have propelled the company to new heights.
With a workforce of nearly 13,500 spread across 49 locations, Kering’s influence in Italy extends to iconic brands like Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Brioni, and Pomellato. The financial prowess is evident as the Italian arm records a staggering €11.6 billion in revenue for 2022, marking an impressive 18.3% growth over three years.
Gucci, a cornerstone of Kering’s success, contributes nearly half of the company’s revenue and 60% of its operating profit, solidifying Kering’s position as the fourth-largest manufacturing entity in Italy’s fashion landscape.
Kering’s impact on Italy’s exports is substantial, contributing €10.5 billion, with a 15% increase from 2019 to 2022. The study estimates Kering’s total contribution to Italy’s ecosystem at €10.9 billion in 2022, equivalent to 0.6% of the country’s GDP. This comprehensive evaluation includes direct and indirect added value through the supply chain.
Francesca Bellettini, Deputy CEO of Kering, emphasizes the company’s evolution in Italy, from artisanal to logistical and managerial competencies. Jean-Marc Duplaix, another Deputy CEO, reaffirms Kering’s commitment to sustainable business growth, acknowledging the company’s deep Italian roots.
