J.Crew, a brand experiencing a remarkable revival, has teamed up with the renowned store and brand, Union Los Angeles. This partnership brings together long-time friends Chris Gibbs, Union Los Angeles’s founder, and Brendon Babenzien, J.Crew’s creative director, to reimagine classic Americana aesthetics from J.Crew infused with Union’s streetwear sensibilities.

Chris Gibbs expressed his pride in the collaboration, stating, «I am really proud of what we built. It’s subtle by nature, but we tried to make something that seamlessly fits both J.Crew and Union Los Angeles, and I think we succeeded.»

The capsule collection boasts a range of apparel and accessories that inject a playful West Coast vibe into classic J.Crew silhouettes. The collection features slightly oversized fits in width and cropped lengths. Signature pieces like coats, pants, and caps are meticulously crafted from Herringbone twill fabric, paying homage to workwear staples with a distinctive twist.

The collection also introduces alpaca and fleece pieces as a nod to J.Crew’s spirit, complemented by whimsical, mismatched plaids.

Babenzien commented on the collaboration, stating, «Chris is one of my oldest friends and someone I turn to for advice. He’s as genuine as they come, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him. A true individual.»

The campaign visuals for the collection are set in Sag Harbor, a historically Black neighborhood in the Hamptons. This choice honors the legacies and Northeastern roots of both brands.
