ISPO Munich, the pinnacle sports and outdoor showcase, achieves unprecedented growth with a 57% spike in exhibitors, reaching an impressive 2,400. The event draws a consistent number of visitors while experiencing a substantial 64% increase in foreign brands, representing 54 countries and making up 93% of total exhibitors—a testament to its global significance.
This edition proudly hosted 93 start-ups, seizing the opportunity to amplify their presence, establish industry footholds, and cultivate impactful business connections. The extensive program, spanning 10 stages, featured innovation labs, masterclasses, and roundtable debates, complemented by the attendance of celebrated athletes and industry luminaries.
Distinguished personalities like Colin Kaepernick, Thomas Tuchel, and Philipp Plein added star power to the event. Collaborations with Highsnobiety and Zeitgeist websites broadened the show’s appeal, highlighting the broader cultural impact of sports beyond physical activity and equipment.
Tobias Gröber, CEO of the Ispo Group, emphasized the dynamic nature of the sports industry, stating, «This year again, we have been able to show clearly that sport, in all its diversity, is much more than just physical activity, equipment, and entertainment.»
Stefan Rummel, managing director of the Messe München group, expressed satisfaction with the positive results, considering the challenging economic context. «Our trade show is perceived worldwide as a must-attend event for the sports sector, evident in the great interest from foreign exhibitors and the enthusiasm of visitors and speakers worldwide,» said Rummel.
ISPO Munich looks ahead to its next edition in a year’s time. In the interim, the organizer anticipates the OutDoor by Ispo event on June 3-5 at the Munich Exhibition Centre, emphasizing the essence of outdoor sports in its continued global impact.
