In a milestone celebration of Marc Cain’s 50th anniversary, the fashion leader has teamed up with eco-outdoor specialist Vaude for an extraordinary upcycling project. Unveiled at a lavish fashion show at Marc Cain’s Bodelshausen headquarters last summer, the collaboration transformed the event’s tent, adorned with Marc Cain’s iconic leopard print, into a limited edition accessory.
This innovative initiative aimed to repurpose the leopard print tent fabric, minimizing waste and reducing the carbon footprint associated with the fashion show. Marc Cain and Vaude’s vision was to create a sustainable yet stylish collection featuring shopper bags and toiletry bags, meticulously crafted in Germany.
The entire production process took place at Vaude’s Obereisenbach site on Lake Constance, ensuring minimal emissions through proximity and environmental responsibility. To further offset transportation emissions, both brands made contributions to the NGO MyClimate.
Each bag in this unique collection is a masterpiece, marketed as a ‘souvenir of 50 years of Marc Cain,’ reflecting individuality and sustainability. Now available on the Marc Cain website, these eco-friendly accessories epitomize the essence of stylish, environmentally conscious living.
Vaude, a sustainability trailblazer, recently clinched two awards at the German Sustainability Award ceremony in the textile and value chain categories. This recognition adds to Vaude’s impressive track record, having been named ‘Germany’s most sustainable brand’ in 2015.
