Martinez’s return to Condé Nast marks a significant chapter in his impressive career. With an initial stint starting in 1988 as Associate Art Director, he later co-founded AR New York in 1996, a creative agency boasting clients such as YSL, Calvin Klein, and Valentino. His impactful journey led him back to the magazine group from 2009 to 2015, holding the title of Chief Creative Officer and reporting directly to Wintour.
Noteworthy is Martinez’s recent tenure as Head Creative Director at Victoria’s Secret and Co., where he earned acclaim with a National Magazine Award for photography.
Commencing on February 5th, Martinez rejoins Condé Nast, reestablishing the direct reporting structure to Anna Wintour, who holds the prestigious positions of Global Editorial Director of Vogue and Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast.
Wintour expressed her anticipation for Martinez’s return, lauding his brilliance, creative acumen, leadership, and collaborative spirit. «Raul knows Vogue inside and out, and I am thrilled to have him back,» she remarked.

Moreover, he will play a pivotal role in elevating Vogue’s video content, seamlessly integrating it into various storytelling formats, including short-form and social clips, news-driven reels, and longer features.
Martinez shared his excitement, stating, “Vogue has always been a home for showcasing new voices and talent. I am enthusiastic about using our platform to introduce up-and-coming creatives to the world and mentor young artists. Looking forward to envisioning new ways to tell stories across different mediums, and, of course, partnering with Anna once again is a source of great excitement for me.”
