With a robust background in the footwear and apparel industry, Long, the former global general manager and chief global merchant of DC Shoes, brings extensive leadership experience from brands such as Mitchell & Ness, Asics, Supra, and Converse. The company is optimistic about Long’s impact, citing his strong leadership and consumer-centric mindset as catalysts for driving the next phase of Sorel’s growth. Long assumes the role previously held by Mark Nenow, who resigned in June for health reasons. In the latest trading update, Columbia reported a 3% increase in net sales for the third quarter, with both wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels contributing positively. Columbia sales grew by 4%, while Sorel experienced a significant 9% increase.
