American actress and singer Lindsay Lohan has been chosen by the sneaker brand Allbirds as the image of the new limited edition of its most successful running shoe to date, the Tree Flyer.
For the occasion, the star appears in a video entitled «Unexpected Athlete», in which she ironizes about her choice as ambassador, commenting that as «a spokesperson for running, I’m a somewhat unexpected choice».
A video that shows a personal side of the actress; her fondness for peanut butter cookies; some nods to her career in the series Mean Girls and makes reference to her blunders on social networks, a campaign that invites to adopt a more casual approach to life. We already saw a similar style of campaign at Ugg, which often collaborates with stars (the last one was Cher) and uses humor and originality in its campaigns.
The video was shot in a Californian home, and Lohan, who recently confirmed that she has been living in Dubai for the past few years and commutes back and forth to New York, promotes the latest model, «Lux Pink,» Allbirds’ plastic-free running shoe.
Despite the slowdown in international sales, the sustainable sneaker brand experienced strong sales growth in the United States, with a 26% increase recorded in the first quarter. However, the brand suffered a net loss of $21.9 million.
