Adidas, the renowned German sportswear giant, has appointed John Miller as the President of Adidas North America, effective immediately.
In this pivotal role, Miller will be responsible for overseeing operations in both the United States and Canada, with his headquarters situated in Portland, Oregon. Reporting directly to Arthur Hoeld, Adidas executive board member overseeing global sales, Miller steps into the position previously held by Rupert Campbell, who resigned as President of North America three months ago.
Miller brings a wealth of experience to this role, having previously served in sales leadership capacities at Adidas. His most recent role was as the Senior Vice President of Wholesale for Puma. His diverse career includes tenures at iconic brands like Nike, G-Form, and Salomon, where he held leadership roles in sales, marketing, wholesale, and merchandising.
«We are thrilled to welcome John back to Adidas as our new President of North America. John is a consumer-centric leader with a remarkable track record of success in executing growth strategies, repositioning, and accelerating brands throughout his career,» highlighted Arthur Hoeld.
Hoeld expressed confidence in Miller’s abilities, emphasizing his passion for people and his capability to build a robust team-based culture. It is anticipated that Miller’s profound understanding of the U.S. marketplace, combined with his adeptness in building and leading effective teams, will significantly contribute to fostering growth in North America.
In the November trading update, Adidas acknowledged a 9% decline in revenue for the quarter across North America. This strategic adjustment aligns with Adidas’ efforts to streamline and enhance its approach in supplying products to the world’s largest sports market.
