Adidas AG has initiated an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior by Kanye West, formerly known as Ye. This move comes after Adidas terminated its partnership with the rapper and fashion designer last month.
The investigation was prompted by an anonymous letter received by Adidas, which contained several allegations against Kanye West. These allegations were also detailed in a Rolling Stone magazine report, which cited interviews with over two dozen former Yeezy and Adidas staff members.
In response to the allegations, Adidas issued a statement saying, «It is currently not clear whether the accusations made in an anonymous letter are true. However, we take these allegations very seriously and have taken the decision to launch an independent investigation of the matter immediately to address the allegations.»
Kanye West has not yet commented publicly on the investigation. The Financial Times reported that Union Investment, Germany’s third-largest asset manager, has requested more information from Adidas regarding the claims.
Kanye West has recently been involved in various controversies, including the termination of major corporate partnerships and controversial statements on social media, resulting in restrictions and content removal from his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
