Discover the phenomenal success of lifestyle brand White Stuff as it reports a stellar 13.3% YoY surge in total sales, hitting an impressive £151.4 million for the 52 weeks ending April 29. CEO Jo Jenkins lauds the ongoing business transformation for delivering robust growth across all facets.
Noteworthy is the 18.1% spike in retail sales, reaching £73.9 million. This surge is attributed to a resurgence of customers across diverse shopping environments, including city centers, shopping malls, market towns, and resorts. Equally significant is the 7.3% boost in online sales, totaling £65.8 million, a notable achievement in the post-pandemic landscape where many experienced declining e-sales.
Strategic partnerships with third-party retailers like M&S, Next, and John Lewis have played a pivotal role in sustaining online growth. White Stuff’s wholesale business, both domestic and international, has witnessed an impressive 20.6% surge, reaching £11.7 million. The international segment, covering wholesale, online, standalone retail, and concessions, outpaces even this figure, boasting a 21.7% increase to £13.5 million.
As the UK’s leading retailer of Fairtrade Sourced Cotton, White Stuff’s success is attributed to its comprehensive transformation program, hitting its stride. The company’s commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in the record-breaking recruitment of 317,000 new customers, marking a 25% YoY increase. Key categories, such as dresses (up 43%) and menswear (up 28%), experienced remarkable growth, showcasing the brand’s resonance with its consumer base.
Throughout its almost four-decade history, White Stuff has cultivated a substantial retail footprint, boasting 123 shops and 54 concessions in the UK, with additional presence in Germany and Belgium. Internationally, the brand extends its reach through a robust online platform and 575 wholesale stockists, strategically positioned both in the UK and Ireland and across various other countries.
