In a significant stride towards sustainability, THG announces its groundbreaking initiative — THG Partnership in Action, or ‘PACT.’ This transformative program is built on collaboration with suppliers, fostering a culture of sustainability to jointly decarbonize operations and leave a positive imprint on the world.
Renowned for its diverse business lines, including beauty e-tail and white label e-commerce services, THG recently had its science-based targets officially validated by the SBTi in September. These targets, covering mandatory Scope 1 and 2 reductions, ambitiously aim for 85% supplier participation with science-based targets by 2027. Additionally, THG targets an impressive 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions by 2040.
Recognizing that the success of the 2040 target relies on collaborative efforts and supplier involvement, THG introduces PACT. This initiative is designed to share THG’s comprehensive sustainability strategy with key stakeholders and suppliers, fostering progress and identifying collaboration opportunities.
PACT’s primary goal is to enhance transparency throughout the supply chain, emphasizing the pivotal role of sustainable practices in today’s business landscape. The initiative includes setting ambitious sustainability goals for suppliers, aligning with THG’s overarching commitment to reducing environmental impact and promoting responsible business practices.
PACT introduces an online supplier portal, streamlining communication of data requirements. Acknowledging the associated challenges, THG pledges to offer guidance and support, working closely with suppliers to ensure understanding and provide necessary resources for meeting sustainability goals.
In addition to resources and guidance, PACT provides technical assistance through THG Eco, described as an accessible, cost-effective, and simplified in-house sustainability service.
Mark Jones, THG’s Chief Sustainability Officer, underscores the importance of addressing all scopes of emissions for a comprehensive and impactful sustainability strategy. By setting specific targets, THG aims to make meaningful contributions to global environmental conservation efforts.
