Jean-Luc Brunel, a highly regarded figure in the fashion industry and a prominent French modeling agent, has been discovered deceased in his prison cell. The Paris prosecutor’s office has confirmed this tragic incident. Brunel had been in custody since December 2020 as part of an extensive investigation involving allegations of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.
This investigation, which was initiated in August 2019, was a preliminary inquiry aimed at determining whether the late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, had committed sex crimes within French territory or against French victims.
At the age of 76, Jean-Luc Brunel had co-founded a modeling management agency in the United States alongside Epstein. Despite the serious accusations against Epstein, Brunel consistently denied any involvement in or knowledge of his alleged criminal activities.
On a fateful Saturday, Brunel was found lifeless in his cell at the Sante prison in Paris, with reports indicating that he had taken his own life by hanging. The Paris prosecutor’s office has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
