The Corner Shop at Selfridges’ flagship London store is currently hosting a unique event featuring Prada and Magnum Photos. Until November 11, visitors can immerse themselves in a captivating photography exhibition titled «Witness to Nature» while exploring the exclusive Prada Reporter collection.
«Witness to Nature» explores the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment through the lenses of eight Magnum photographers. Alongside this thought-provoking exhibition, you can shop the Prada Reporter collection, inspired by the attire of adventurous photographers.
Prada acknowledges the modern era of photojournalism, where we use smartphones to document our surroundings and share them on social media. The Prada Reporter collection seamlessly blends this digital reality with classic explorer aesthetics, offering khaki and camouflage garments adorned with practical pockets. Crafted from durable Re-Nylon and cotton, these pieces feature loose-fitting silhouettes and essential accessories designed for adventures.
Magnum Photos, founded in 1947 by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, George Rodger, and David Seymour, has long been known for merging art and reportage in photography. «Witness to Nature» continues this legacy, showcasing the work of four pairs of Magnum photographers across four themes: ‘Nature and Metropolis,’ ‘Costumes and Cultures,’ ‘Community and Seclusion,’ and ‘Eternal and Ephemeral.’ This exhibition delves into humanity’s role in the world, our evolutionary journey, and the challenges we face.
During the initial days of the residency, The Corner Shop treated visitors to nature-inspired, alcohol-free cocktails. Moreover, on October 12, from 2 pm to 3 pm, Cristina De Middel, one of the featured Magnum photographers, will be present to sign posters and discuss her remarkable work.
Don’t miss this captivating blend of photography and fashion at The Corner Shop, Selfridges, London, and explore the rich tapestry of our relationship with nature and the world.
