In a strategic move to revitalize the iconic Pierre Cardin brand, led by Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the great-nephew of the late couturier, the maison is unveiling a dynamic strategy. Exclusive insights into the brand’s initiatives coincide with the reopening of its renovated flagship boutique in Paris, offering a sneak peek into its multifaceted vision and an estimated revenue of approximately 20 million euros.
The meticulously renovated historical boutique at No. 59 Faubourg Saint-Honoré reflects Pierre Cardin’s futuristic aesthetics. Spanning 140 square meters, the space retains its original charm with curved lines, rounded contours, and vibrant displays illuminated by LED lights. Currently showcasing a curated selection of the latest women’s collections, the boutique plans an expansion of an additional 120 square meters to introduce the Pierre Cardin furniture and design line.
Looking ahead, the upper floor of the boutique, connected to the adjacent men’s collections store, is set to transform into a dynamic museum honoring Pierre Cardin. Encompassing 500 square meters, this evolving museum will showcase the brand’s extensive archive of 30,000 pieces, spanning from 1950 to the present day, highlighting Cardin’s profound influence across various domains.
Beyond Paris, the brand’s global presence includes a versatile third boutique at 82 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, adapting to offer ready-to-wear and accessories. Another showcase boutique resides in Venice, complementing nearly a thousand points of sale worldwide managed by 150 licensees.
Introducing a new line within this expansive network is «Pierre Cardin Evolution.» Positioned as a youthful, sportier collection with a more accessible price range (500 to 700 euros), it stands apart from the main Pierre Cardin collection, featuring pieces ranging from 2,500 to 12,600 euros.
Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, at the helm of the creative division in the Parisian studio, aims to double the workshop’s capacity, crafting a dozen models in four sizes. The maison plans to commence retail distribution through select multi-brand stores. Simultaneously, the renowned restaurant Chez Maxim’s, owned by Pierre Cardin since 1981, has recently reopened after extensive renovations, now under the management of the Paris Society group.
Experience the rebirth of Pierre Cardin, where boutique elegance meets museum innovation, and a new line shapes the brand’s future.
