Wembley Park’s London Designer Outlet (LDO) achieved its highest-ever Black Friday week sales, boasting an impressive 8.6% increase over the previous record. Meanwhile, Outlet Shopping at the O2 in Greenwich, South London, celebrated a remarkable 27% surge in Black Friday weekend sales compared to the previous year.
LDO’s November sales set a new record for the second consecutive year, exceeding £9 million. During Black Friday week, footfall surged by 8.1%, outpacing the broader high street increase of 1.6%. Notably, menswear sales skyrocketed by an astounding 123.4%, with outdoor and footwear categories also delivering robust performances, witnessing increases of 37.6% and 30.2%, respectively, compared to 2022.
Matt Slade, Retail Director at operator Quintain, attributes LDO’s success to consumers seeking deals amidst the cost-of-living crisis and the allure of major brands at the location. Outlet Shopping at The O2 continues to enhance its retail offerings, recently welcoming Under Armour’s first London outlet store. Designed under the Factory House retail concept, the outlet offers a diverse selection of sportswear apparel, footwear, and accessories. The Black Friday weekend at The O2 witnessed a substantial 27% increase in sales, with fashion sales rising by 32% and homewares sales experiencing an astonishing 62% uplift.
