Outerknown, established in 2015 by visionary John Moore and renowned surfer Kelly Slater, is thrilled to announce the launch of four new eco-conscious brick-and-mortar retail locations across the United States.
These brand-new stores in Marin, CA, Carlsbad, CA, Palo Alto, CA, and Georgetown, DC, are a true embodiment of Outerknown’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
Crafted with meticulous care by the talented team at Starch Creative, each of these spaces is a testament to our devotion to responsible design. They feature sustainable fixtures made from reclaimed S.E.A. denim scraps, eco-friendly paperpaste mannequins, and flooring constructed from submerged hemlock logs rescued from the waters of Nova Scotia. Notably, environmental scientist and artist Ethan Estess has contributed stunning maritime rope art installations that infuse these boutiques with unique character.
As you step inside, you’ll be enveloped in the Sonos Pro retail sound experience, enhancing your shopping journey. What’s more, you can now personalize your purchases with ease, thanks to our on-site embroidery station.
Kelly Slater, the driving force behind Outerknown, shares his enthusiasm: «These new retail spaces are a true celebration of community. Many of these spots hold personal significance for me, and they symbolize the collective efforts to protect our planet. At Outerknown, we are committed to preserving our one and only Earth.»
Each of our stores showcases Outerknown’s iconic products, including the timeless Blanket Shirt, sustainable S.E.A. Jeans and Jumpsuits, Climate Beneficial sweatpants, t-shirts crafted from Regenerative Organic Certified cotton, and the beloved recycled Apex Trunks by Kelly Slater himself.
John Moore, Outerknown’s creative director, states, «As we selected these new locations for our retail expansion, we aimed to open our doors in places where people share our values of responsible business, meaningful change, and exceptional clothing.»
«We can’t wait for our friends and customers to experience the thoughtful environmental considerations that went into crafting these new spaces. We are exceptionally proud.»
This retail expansion builds upon our existing stores in Boston, SoHo, Vermont, Malibu, El Segundo, and The Surf Ranch in Lemoore, CA, all designed by the creative minds at Starch Creative. Outerknown remains committed to sustainable practices and the welfare of our planet.
