Oakley, the sports performance eyewear brand, has unveiled its latest store on London’s iconic shopping destination, Carnaby Street. The store’s grand opening was a high-profile event, graced by the presence of Oakley athlete and Women’s England footballer, Alessia Russo.
The Carnaby Street location is Oakley’s second retail store in the UK, complementing its long-standing store in Covent Garden. Customers can explore an extensive range of best-selling eyewear models like Kato, Sutro, and Holbrook, along with a curated selection of apparel, footwear, accessories, and more.
Stefano Melani, General Manager of Luxottica Retail UK (Oakley’s parent company), expressed his excitement about the new store, stating that it «brings our community closer to Oakley’s brand ethos.»
In a year marked by several eyewear store openings in London, Oakley’s strategic decision to expand its presence with a second store in the capital is significant. The brand’s strong ties to sports have led to collaborations with prominent athletes. This year, they signed a multi-year partnership with French football sensation and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé plays a pivotal role in Oakley’s ‘Be Who You Are’ campaign film, which celebrates his sporting journey, individuality, and spirit.
Oakley’s roster of partners also includes well-known figures like England cricketer Jofra Archer, GB skateboarder Tom Knox, and cycling advocate Shuhena Islam, underscoring the brand’s commitment to various aspects of athleticism.
