Natura, a Barcelona-based chain specializing in fashion, homeware and accessories, celebrates three decades of life this year. To celebrate, it is launching a collaboration with designer Javier Mariscal, the artist who brought Cobi, the mascot of the Barcelona ’92 Olympic Games, to life.

The design resulting from the alliance between Natura and Mariscal is embodied in a limited edition of paper bags. These bags, which the brand renews every six months, are one of its main communication supports and, with them, the company seeks to «provoke, denounce, make people think, smile or simply inspire», according to the brand itself.

Colorful and featuring animals and plants, as well as the figures 1992 and 2022, the design captures Mariscal’s vision of the company. «To enter a Natura store is to experience a controlled chaos of colors, products and objects of all kinds. It is to feel that the world is alive», in the words of the artist.

Natura, which is aiming for 125 million euros in sales this year (thus surpassing pre-pandemic figures), opened its first store three decades ago on Consejo de Ciento street in Barcelona. It currently has 234 stores in four markets: Spain, Portugal, Italy and Andorra.
