Mango Expands in the American Market with First California Store

Mango, the renowned Barcelona-based fashion brand, is continuing its aggressive expansion strategy in the American market. After successful launches in Texas and Georgia earlier in August, Mango has now opened its inaugural store in Los Angeles County, California.

Situated within the Los Cerritos Center, a prominent shopping mall nestled between Los Angeles and Orange counties, the new Mango store boasts an impressive 400 square meters of retail space. In parallel, the brand has unveiled a sprawling 460-square-meter store at the Glendale Galleria shopping center, also located within Los Angeles County.

Both of these newly opened stores proudly showcase Mango’s exquisite women’s fashion line and embrace the brand’s latest store concept, drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean. Aptly named ‘New Med,’ this interior design concept harmonizes neutral color palettes, inviting warm tones, and the use of traditional artisanal materials.

Daniel López, Mango’s Director of Expansion and Franchises, expressed the brand’s enthusiasm for bringing the Mango experience to California. He underscored California’s pivotal role as one of their key growth markets within the United States.

Mango has been actively expanding its footprint across the U.S., with recent store inaugurations in Texas and Georgia. In Texas, Mango has made its presence felt in various prominent shopping centers, including The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, North Star Mall in San Antonio, Galleria Dallas in Dallas, La Plaza Mall in McAllen, Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, and Baybrook Mall in Houston. The brand’s entry into Georgia included the launch of a spacious store covering over 600 square meters at Perimeter Mall.

Looking ahead to 2023, Mango has set ambitious goals to open approximately 15 stores in the United States, primarily focusing on the western and southern regions. California, in particular, will witness the opening of four Mango establishments, encompassing Fashion Valley shopping center in San Diego and three locations in Los Angeles: Brea Mall, Victoria Gardens, and Beverly Center in Beverly Hills.

Mango initiated its robust expansion plan in the United States in May of the previous year, marked by the opening of its flagship store on the prestigious Fifth Avenue. The company’s overarching objective is to establish around 40 stores by 2024, positioning the American market among its top five countries in terms of revenue volume.

Mango’s presence in the United States traces back to 2006, and the brand has consistently reinforced its commitment to the region. This commitment encompasses significant milestones such as the renovation of the Mango SoHo store in 2017 and a strategic partnership with Macy’s in 2019. Subsequently, Mango expanded its presence with the launch of four outlets in New Jersey, New York, and Miami. At the close of the previous fiscal year, Mango operated a total of 10 physical stores in the U.S., complemented by a robust online presence through its official website, Macy’s, and Nordstrom.
