Madhappy, the brainchild of visionaries Joshua Sitt, Noah Raf, Peiman Raf, and Mason Spector, marks a significant milestone with the opening of its inaugural boutique in Los Angeles. Situated at 8906 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, this new space embodies the brand’s core ethos of positivism and optimism.
Formerly making waves at Melrose Place, Madhappy now takes center stage on Melrose Avenue, sharing the spotlight with distinguished brands like James Perse and Maxfield. Spanning 2,800 square feet, the boutique, crafted in collaboration with Los Angeles-based creative studio PlayLab, Inc., transcends traditional retail. It serves as a sanctuary where patrons are encouraged to immerse themselves in the Madhappy experience.
The store’s minimalist concept showcases Madhappy collections within a soothing blue palette, adorning the entire floor with contemporary furniture and a stone-carved bench, creating an ambiance of tranquility. A multimedia room enriches the experience, featuring audiovisual works by artists like electronic maestro Khotin. An open-air courtyard, graced with a tree, and a welcoming café named ‘Pantry by Madhappy’ complete the immersive journey.
Open to the public, ‘Pantry by Madhappy’ tantalizes taste buds with a curated selection of coffee, tea, and pastries in collaboration with esteemed brands such as Hotel Drugs, Courage Bagels, Gjusta, Jon & Vinny’s, Beverly Hills Juice, and Awan. The boutique also unveils exclusive special capsules and accessories, including custom bags from Pacific Tote Company, an incense pack, and burner in collaboration with Kuumba International featuring a unique Madhappy scent. Notably, the ‘Madhappy for Los Angeles Dodgers ’47 Clean Up’ collection, available in four colorways, adds a sporty flair.
Mason Spector, in a statement, underscores the meticulous approach to the flagship store, stating, “It’s been amazing to take our time with this, our first flagship, to really obsess over every detail in collaboration with PlayLab. We’ve made a huge effort to think through every inch of the space.”
With over twenty pop-up stores across the United States, from New York to Miami, Aspen, and Los Angeles, Madhappy is poised for expansion. Bolstered by a $1.8 million investment from the LVMH group in 2019, the brand aims to proliferate its message of optimism with additional store openings in the near future.
Madhappy’s racks boast a diverse array of products, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweaters, jackets, puffer vests, scarves, baseball caps, socks, and the collaborative Ugg and Madhappy footwear collection, proudly manufactured in Los Angeles.
Beyond fashion, Madhappy champions mental health through The Madhappy Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to global mental health improvement. Allocating 1% of proceeds from every sale, the foundation supports initiatives focused on mental health awareness, research, and positive contributions to the mental health movement. In August, Madhappy expanded its reach with the launch of ‘Local Optimist,’ a print magazine dedicated to mental health awareness, wellness, and art.
