Phil Dickinson, Senior Vice President and Global Creative Director at Lululemon Athletica, has passed away, with the cause of his death remaining undisclosed.

Phil Dickinson joined Lululemon in April 2022, taking on the role of leading the brand’s global creative strategy and product design roadmap, building upon the foundation laid by the existing design team. He reported directly to Sun Choe, Lululemon’s Chief Product Officer.

Before joining Lululemon, Phil Dickinson held various executive positions in the sporting goods and fashion industries. Notably, he served as the Global Creative Director of Football at Nike in 2007 and later as the Global Creative Director of Nike Sportswear from 2010. In 2011, he played a pivotal role in revitalizing the Umbro brand as VP and Creative Director of Umbro at Nike. In 2013, he founded the London-based design agency Some Ideas.

After a nine-year stint, he assumed the role of Creative Director at the UK apparel brand Superdry before joining Lululemon in a similar capacity.

Calvin McDonald, CEO of Lululemon, expressed deep sadness over the loss of Phil Dickinson, describing him as a visionary and inspiring leader who made a positive impact on his teams and the company as a whole. The company is focused on providing support to his family during this challenging time and has requested that others respect their privacy.

Lululemon has not yet announced a successor for the role previously held by Phil Dickinson.
