Hudson’s Bay, the esteemed Canadian department store chain, proudly announces the appointment of retail luminary Liz Rodbell as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1.
Rodbell, a seasoned industry veteran and former President of Hudson’s Bay from 2013 to 2017, brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Recognized for her strategic acumen and impactful tenure as Chief Merchant, Rodbell is uniquely positioned to guide the company through its next phase of growth. With established vendor relationships and an intimate understanding of Hudson’s Bay’s business and customer base, she is poised to make significant contributions.
This announcement coincides with the appointment of Michael Culhane as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Culhane, previously serving as the CFO of HBC LP since 2020, will report directly to Rodbell, playing a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth plans.
Rodbell’s return to Hudson’s Bay follows the departure of Sophia Hwang-Judiesch, the outgoing President who played a crucial role in navigating the company through challenges in the retail industry.
