Alves is leaving Kohl’s to pursue new opportunities, and the company expresses appreciation for his leadership. Kohl’s wishes him success in his future endeavors.
Appointed in February to oversee Kohl’s extensive network of 1,200 stores, Alves officially assumed his role in April. He reported to Kohl’s CEO Tom Kingsbury. Alves brings a wealth of experience, having held key positions at Bealls Retail Group, TJX Canada, TJX Europe, Hudson’s Bay, and Sterling Shoes.
In response to Alves’ departure, Kohl’s does not currently plan to seek a replacement, with expectations that responsibilities will be redistributed among existing executives.
This development closely follows the recent announcement of board chair Peter Boneparth’s retirement, with Michael Bender slated to assume the position at the end of his current term.
Stay tuned for Kohl’s third-quarter earnings update, scheduled for Tuesday.
