Kim Kardashian, the former reality TV star turned successful businesswoman, has taken steps to trademark her eldest daughter’s name, North West. In a move made through her company, Kimsaprincess Inc., Kim filed a trademark application on March 10, covering several key areas, including entertainment, advertising, toys (including dolls and educational games), and cosmetics.
The trademark application suggests that the name North West could soon be associated with a wide range of cosmetic products, including moisturizing creams, lotions, cleansers, bubble baths, as well as nail and hair care items. North West, who is on the verge of turning 10 in June, is already a prominent figure in both the entertainment world and social media.
This is not the first time Kim Kardashian has taken steps to trademark her children’s names. In 2019, she secured the trademark for North West’s name for use in the ready-to-wear fashion industry. Furthermore, she has registered the name of her youngest son, Psalm, multiple times.
Kim Kardashian’s successful business ventures, including her thriving lingerie brand Skims and her cosmetics label SKKN (owned by the US beauty group Coty), have garnered significant attention. With these recent trademark applications, questions arise about whether she is building a family empire or simply safeguarding her children’s names.
North West has been capturing the spotlight not only because of her famous parents but also due to her growing presence on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where she and her mother share an account boasting over 15 million followers. In addition to this, North West is slated to lend her voice to a character in the upcoming children’s movie, «Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.»
