Joe Browns, the renowned omnichannel fashion and home retailer, celebrates a significant milestone with the grand opening of its inaugural physical store in Leeds. Founder Simon Brown describes it as a «remarkable moment» as the brand returns to its roots in the city where it all began, marking its 25th year in business.
The new 3,000 sq ft store, strategically located in the White Rose Shopping Centre, showcases an impressive array of 400 lines spanning across womenswear, menswear, and home collections. This expansion has led to the creation of 14 new jobs, contributing to the local economy.
As Joe Browns forays into the physical retail space, it signifies a promising chapter for the brand. Currently, the retailer is actively seeking locations for an additional nine stores across the UK, supplementing its existing presence in Leeds, York, Sheffield, and a franchise-operated store in Bowness on Windermere.
In parallel success, the Meadowhall store in Sheffield, operational since 2017, has achieved a noteworthy milestone by surpassing £10 million in sales – a remarkable achievement translating to nearly 300,000 units sold.
This year, Joe Browns ventured into television advertising, unveiling captivating ads featuring its AW23 and Christmas collections. Titled ‘Be Remarkable’ and ‘Join the Party,’ these advertisements aim to encapsulate the brand’s essence and resonate with its diverse customer base.
Tracey Hepton, the marketing director, highlights the brand’s commitment to diverse communication channels. She notes, «As we continue to grow, we explore complementary avenues to connect with our customers, including our ever-popular catalog, digital platforms, and social channels.»
This expansion and success underscore Joe Browns’ position as a dynamic force in the retail landscape, blending heritage with a forward-looking approach.
