In a significant leadership move, H&M Group, the world’s second-largest fashion retailer, announces Hendrik Alpen as the incoming Communications Director. Currently overseeing Engagement and Transparency in H&M Group Sustainability, Alpen’s extensive background spans diverse roles in Sweden, Bangladesh, and Germany, where he previously served as Head of Communications and PR.
This strategic appointment follows the decision of Andreas Eriksson, the outgoing Communications Director, to explore new opportunities outside the company. Hendrik Alpen’s comprehensive understanding of global operations positions him well to lead communications initiatives for H&M Group.
The company, renowned for its flagship brand H&M and other international labels like H&M Home, Cos, Arket, & Other Stories, Monki, Weekday, and Afound, maintains a robust global presence.
Effective January, Alpen will report directly to group CEO Helena Helmersson, signaling H&M Group’s commitment to seamless leadership transitions. This move underscores the company’s dedication to impactful communication and sustainability practices.
Hendrik Alpen’s appointment aligns with H&M Group’s continued influence in the fashion industry, reflecting a focus on strategic leadership and operational continuity.
