Mark Hill Hair Launches Bold OOH Campaign for Jumbo Waver Styling Tool

Mark Hill Hair has unveiled an eye-catching out-of-home (OOH) billboard and bus-side campaign in its hometown, Nottingham, to introduce its new jumbo waver styling tool. The campaign theme is unconventional and aims to provoke curiosity.

In addition to the local campaign, ad vans featuring the brand’s distinctive hot pink branding will tour London landmarks such as Big Ben, The London Eye, Oxford Street, Carnaby Street, Covent Garden, and Piccadilly Circus.

The ads prominently showcase the bubble-shaped jumbo waver styling tool, drawing attention to the fact that some people mistake Mark Hill Hair’s styling tools for sex toys.

This five-figure marketing campaign is designed to raise awareness of the new styling tool and uses disruptive messaging to capture consumers’ interest. Love Island star Chloe Burrows is part of the campaign and plays a humorous role in emphasizing that the curling wand is not a sex toy.

Gemma Montgomery-Dickens, marketing director at Mark Hill Hair, explained the brand’s desire to break boundaries, disrupt the industry, and stand out. The campaign leans into the playful resemblance of their styling tools to sex toys, aiming to grab attention and challenge taboos surrounding self-care and self-expression.

The campaign’s ultimate goal is to turn taboos into topics for open discussions, promoting self-love and personal care.
