Frasers Group, a prominent player in fashion and sportswear, is making strategic moves towards its future growth by seeking approval for a global headquarters campus in Ansty, Rugby, Warwickshire. This visionary project, if approved, promises to be a catalyst for economic development, potentially creating 7,500 jobs and contributing £300 million in gross value added to the region.
Remarkably, this new location is just 50 miles from the company’s current Shirebrook headquarters in Derbyshire, underlining Frasers Group’s commitment to its roots while embracing expansion.
Designed by renowned architects Grimshaw, known for iconic projects such as the Eden Project and London’s Excel Phase II, this envisioned campus is a comprehensive endeavor. It will encompass logistics facilities, cutting-edge offices, advanced research and development centers, retail spaces, a luxury hotel, and a range of leisure amenities. Among these amenities are a state-of-the-art gym, bookable courts, and pitches accessible to the public, fostering community engagement.
A spokesperson for Frasers Group expressed enthusiasm, stating, «This strategic move will provide us with a world-class platform to bolster our elevation strategy, solidify our position as a sector leader, and pursue our ambitious growth plans.»
This development follows Frasers Group’s announcement in June to streamline operations by potentially reducing up to 200 head office jobs, representing around 20% of staff in London and Shirebrook. This restructuring aligns with the company’s broader strategy to ensure agility and profitability.
Frasers Group remains steadfast in its long-term «elevation strategy,» aiming to enhance its brand image and attract high-profile brands, particularly within its upscale Flannels operations. Over the past 18 months, the brand has rapidly expanded into key city center locations, boasting a network of 50 stores across the UK.
With the potential new headquarters in Warwickshire, Frasers Group is taking a monumental step towards securing its future as an industry powerhouse.
