Douglas, the German cosmetics giant and parent company of Nocibé, celebrates a significant 12.1% surge in sales, reaching €4.1 billion for the financial year ending September 2022/23. This impressive growth is mirrored by a remarkable 22.3% increase in the Group’s EBIDTA, soaring to €725.9 million. Notably, Nocibé marks a pivotal turnaround, posting a net profit of €16.7 million after a €313.8 million loss in the previous year, signaling recovery post-Coronavirus challenges.
Key drivers of this success include a robust 13% increase in physical store sales, totaling €2.7 billion, and resilient online sales, growing by 10.3% to reach €1.3 billion.
Geographically, sales in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands surged by 14.2% to €1.8 billion, while Nocibé shops in France contributed significantly with a 4.1% growth, amounting to €813 million.
Southern Europe experienced a noteworthy 5.8% sales increase, totaling €622 million. The high-growth region of Central and Eastern Europe, covering Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, and Romania, reported an impressive 25.9% surge, achieving €556.4 million in sales.
Guided by Sander van der Laan and potentially eyeing a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Douglas maintains a robust presence with 1,840 shops across Europe, solidifying its position as a leader in the cosmetics and perfume retail sector.
