Hermès, the epitome of luxury fashion, proudly introduces its newest jewel in Wuxi, China, signaling its robust growth in the Chinese market.
Nestled in Liangxi District’s Center 66, this two-level architectural masterpiece seamlessly blends water and stone influences. The façade pays homage to Ming temple roofs, featuring a captivating pattern with vertical wooden tiles in a rich dark-blue hue, mirroring the fluidity of the Yangtze River. Opaque wood panels add an intriguing layer of privacy to the meticulously designed interior.
On the first level, explore a curated selection including women’s silk, fashion jewelry, men’s silk, fragrances, and men’s ready-to-wear. The men’s section, bathed in natural light, boasts a dark-blue ceramic staircase, a visual ode to rain, leading to the leather universe and men’s shoe section. Ascend to the second level to discover women’s ready-to-wear, shoe areas, equestrian accessories, homeware collections, jewelry, watches, and a private lounge.
Crafted by the esteemed Parisian architecture agency RDAI, each level features granite grey stone floors adorned with mosaic carpets showcasing the Faubourg pattern in dark-blue and pale-yellow tones. This design pays homage to the Ming dynasty’s Chenghuang temple bas-relief, enhancing the store’s unique mineral nature with curved ceilings lit by light oak wood.
Complementing the ambiance is an exclusive collection of art from French artists, including Thierry Ardouin’s captivating photograph of l’Arbre du voyageur and original designs from the Émile Hermès collection by French painter Antoine Carbonne.
This grand opening marks Hermès’ 34th address in China, cementing its presence in the prosperous Jiangsu province, aptly known as the «land of rice and fish.»
