Daniel Kearns to Lead Revival of Cerruti 1881 and Kent & Curwen
In a significant development, Cerruti 1881 and Kent & Curwen, two iconic fashion labels with a rich heritage, are poised for a grand relaunch under the leadership of Daniel Kearns, the newly appointed Chief Creative Officer. This marks a pivotal moment in their resurgence, following their acquisition earlier this year by Guangzhou-based fashion company Biem L Fdlkk Garment Co.
Biem’s founder, Xie Bingzhen, has expressed ambitious global plans for these luxury brands and has placed great confidence in Daniel Kearns’ creative prowess. Kearns brings a wealth of experience in sportswear, luxury ready-to-wear, retail, and accessories to the table.
Kearns’ return to Kent & Curwen, where he previously served as Creative Director from 2016 to 2021, underscores his deep understanding of the brand’s DNA. With a remarkable track record in global luxury, including prominent roles at Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, Zegna, and a recent tenure as Men’s Design Director at Gucci, Kearns is well-equipped to steer these brands into a new era of success.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Kearns remarked, «I’m honored to be appointed Chief Creative Officer. Cerruti 1881 has such a rich heritage and tremendous potential for redefining itself for a contemporary audience. Returning to Kent & Curwen feels like a wonderful homecoming for me.»
Kearns is set to assume his role next month, with the inaugural men’s and women’s collections for both brands slated for a September 2024 debut. This momentous relaunch under Biem Group’s ownership promises to breathe new life into Cerruti 1881 and Kent & Curwen.
Biem Group, originally known for golf clothing, has expanded its footprint in the Chinese market and owns multiple brands, including Carnaval De Venise. With a robust retail presence and strategic partnerships, the group has been making significant strides in the fashion industry.
