Coty, the prominent American cosmetics group, has strategically appointed Pierric Duthoit, a former executive from Meta (previously Facebook Inc), as its Chief Digital Officer, effective from December 1. Duthoit, with a strong educational background from Saint-Cyr and HEC, brings extensive experience, having previously served as Meta’s Business Director in France. His earlier roles at Google, including Sales Director in Moscow and overseeing various industries in the Middle East and Africa, contribute to a robust skill set.
The creation of the Chief Digital Officer position at Coty in November 2020 marked a pivotal move towards prioritizing digital strategy. Prior to Duthoit, Jean-Denis Mariani held this role, concurrently serving as the digital director for LVMH’s Guerlain. According to Mariani’s LinkedIn profile, Coty witnessed a remarkable doubling of e-commerce net revenue from $450 million to $900 million between 2020 and 2023.
Coty, recognized for brands like Lancaster, Orveda, and Cover Girl, has demonstrated substantial growth, posting an 18% increase in sales to $1.64 billion in the first quarter of the 2023/24 financial year. Pierric Duthoit’s appointment aligns with Coty’s strategic focus on elevating its digital capabilities and expanding its market presence.
