Officially known as J Carter Sporting Club Limited, Castore has unveiled impressive results for the year ending in January, with a remarkable 136% increase in turnover.
During this period, the company achieved a turnover of £66.2 million, coupled with a significant boost in operating profit, soaring to £16.6 million. This represents more than double the previous year’s figure of £8.09 million. Pre-tax profit also experienced substantial growth, reaching £14.67 million compared to £8.06 million in the previous year, and net profit rose to £11.73 million, up from £6.52 million.
In the UK, sales surged from £42.5 million to an impressive £79.8 million, while in Europe, they skyrocketed from less than £1 million to £25.3 million. Additionally, North American turnover rose from £1 million to £3.1 million, and in the rest of the world, they climbed from £4.3 million to £6.6 million.
These remarkable figures reflect a year in which Castore successfully launched several pivotal partnerships, including collaborations with the Premier League, Formula One, Premiership Rugby, and International Cricket.
Crucially, Castore maintained its unwavering focus on digital channels, which continue to be the «driving force» behind the business, enabling the establishment of deep connections with consumers, fostering robust brand engagement, and inspiring loyalty.
The company’s strategic plan moving forward is to further intensify its focus on digital growth while upholding its commitment to partnerships with «world-class sports teams, enhancing brand awareness and desirability.»
Emphasizing the importance of physical retail presence, Castore stated that during the aforementioned year, it seized the opportunity presented by «highly favorable market conditions in the rental market» to open new stores, aligning with the brand’s growing recognition.
Notably, the Manchester-based enterprise also expanded its workforce, witnessing a substantial increase from 174 employees to 399 during the year.
